Based on the Polymer Cavalry Arms Lower

In my opinion, this might be the ultimate 0-200 yard tactical carbine. Operators know light and handy is important, and that is what this AR-15 is all about. The lower is the polymer Cavalry Arms lower. Alan Samuel (http://www.alansamuel.com) put the lower together for me and worked on the trigger. I built the upper using a lightwieght A3 aluminum receiver, freefloat handguard and a slightly modified A1 barrel (5.56 chamber) with a sight base gas block, there is no comp, port or flash hider. The sight is the lightwieght OKO reflex sight with integral backup fixed sights. As it sits, it weighs 5.6 pounds! With a little machinging of the handguard and a few other lightening cuts, my goal is 5 pounds even. The recoil and accuracy were actually better than I expected. A few quick 30 round magazines and the barrel gets pretty hot! However, POI does not shift noticeably. There are still a few more modifications I am considering, like an off axis fiber optic and a tactical light. If you are looking for lightweight, this is the ticket!
